Nicoleta Nadia Ghita, a close family friend, works with my mother at the Municipal Hospital in Targoviste, Romania, my home town. In July 2011, Nicoleta was diagnosed with leukemia at the Fundeni Hospital in Bucharest. Following her initial chemotherapy she began to suffer from fever with a temperature of 39.5 degrees and subsequent side effects.
The medical treatment continued but unfortunately she stopped responding to treatment with the fever and her general health continuing to deteriate. The Romanian healthcare service can not explain why the fever has continued for 4 months and will not resume chemotherapy treatment which is so vital to saving her life.

In order to give Nicoleta hope of life, it is necessary to receive treatment from specialists in Munich, Germany who have had much success in treating this form of leukemia. The treatment consists of four very strong chemotherapy sessions, each session costing 25,000 euros, a total cost of 100,000 euros.
